After leaving Soweto, we headed east to Kruger Natonal Park, a four drive east. The first half of the trip was through the high veldt with flat farmland and much evidence of gold mining close to Joburg and lots of strip mining of coal farther east. We then gradually descended into a more tropical climate with lots of citrus, avocado and other warm weather crops.
